Swimming is an excellent form of exercise that involves minimal joint loading and permits ease of movement. It can help improve your flexibility, strength , endurance and aerobic capacity. When you swim, 90% of your body weight is eliminated which makes it stress free for your joints.

Many medical professionals advise patients “to swim” for chronic musculoskeletal issues and other medical conditions. Often however, there is no more specific advice given than “to swim”. PhysioSwim seeks to address this and provide specific advice regarding suitable or modified strokes while taking into account your injuries or medical conditions. It is suitable for any level swimmer from complete beginner to advanced.

Testimonials

I was referred to Lisa in 2017, following a spinal cord injury, which left my mobility severely compromised. Having started Hydrotherapy in the National Rehabilitation Hospital , it was definitely something that I knew would aid my recovery. The only problem was that I had a terrible fear of water and had never learned to swim. I was also conscious that I wanted someone who specialized in hydrotherapy and someone I could feel confident in. When I met Lisa she was so understanding and considerate and gently eased me into the pool with her swim lessons. She was patient and kind and soon helped me to overcome my fear. Having completed a few courses of her PhysioSwim classes my confidence grew immensely. I then joined Lisa's weekly Hydrotherapy classes which were extremely beneficial and eased a lot of my back pain. On account of Covid I am really missing my Hydro classes and can't wait to get back to them as soon as possible. Lisa is a wonderful teacher, so kind and understanding and gives 100% to all of her clients. I would highly recommend Lisa to anyone suffering with any type of physical injury or chronic pain or even if it's just to become a bit more confident in the water. Thank you Lisa.
